Hello all
I have a QA environment that we are testing the upgrade to 5.1u1 (from 5.0).
I am unable to login using either the vSphere client or the web client using domain credentials.
If I try and login to the web client using domain credentials, the client show 'Authenticating', and doesn't seem to timeout. If I try to login using the vSphere client, I get the error 'The server took too long to respond'. Oddly enough, if I enter an incorrect password, it will fail with the error 'incorrect username/password'.
My identity source seems to be configured correctly and is one of the default domains, along with the local machine and 'System-Domain'. The 'Test Connection' button reports successful.
Once I try to login using domain credentials, the 'imsTrace.log' file goes crazy, it grows to approximately 64MB then seems to roll over and start again. It takes about 60 seconds for the log to fill then reset. This will then continue unless I restart the SSO service. The imsTrace.log seems to contain the following (names have been modified...), the lines repeat _many_ times per second...
2013-08-13 14:44:01,046, [LDAP Parallel Search Thread-5], (DirContextImpl.java:1551), trace.com.rsa.ims.connectionpool.jca.common.DirContextImpl, DEBUG, VCENTERQA.biz.ca,,,,search( {DC=biz,DC=ca}, {(&(objectClass=group)(|(member=CN=BIZ.Support,OU=Groups,OU=BIZ,DC=biz,DC=ca)(member=CN=BIZ Server Adm,OU=Groups,OU=BIZ,DC=biz,DC=ca)))}, {SearchControls( SUBTREE_SCOPE, 0, 120000, [cn, description], false, false )} )

We do have multiple domains, and I have (very) limited access to the AD.
Any suggestions on where I need to start looking?
All help appreciated,
Thanks
Brian
