vcenter "ghost" host record

vsphere hosts are 5.0 U1 + updates. vCenter is 5.0 (something, not sure). The old lab manager may be installed, as well as SRM.

I removed a host from inventory today, and then installed 5.0 U1 on new hardware, using the same name as the recently removed host. The install was fine, but as I was adding the host to vcenter, the vcenter service just crashed (or, was stopped anyway). I restarted it, and the host add had not occured, so then I tried again (though this time for whatever reason instead of adding the host to the cluster, I added it to the datacenter object instead. Again, the service died. So, I rdp'd to the vcenter server, re-started the service, and then did the add from the vcenter server console. The add completed, and then I moved the server into the cluster, which also completed fine. The service stayed up and all seems good.

However - once I finished configuring the host, I noticed that the same host name appears in the datacenter level as well as in the cluster. The object has all menu options greyed out (as though it were disconnected I guess) but ... I was nervous about deleting it, thinking it may possibly be "linked" somehow in the db to the functioning server object.

Has anyone else ever seen anything like this? I suspect that there may be some db funkyness going on, but not sure. And since there are other products involved, especially SRM, I can't just "wipe out" the db and start from scratch.

What do you think - anything to be concerned about?
