I`m working on establishing a second server of every main service on our disaster location.
Getting a second AD, second SQL server in a Enterprise cluster and so on is not a problem, but what about vCenter? The reason why I want a second server running on the disaster site is that we are using NetApp and SnapMirror with 15 min delay on the SnapMirror sync. I have the possibility for failover with routers and firewalls, but the servers I have to boot. Is it possible to run some kind of vCenter cluster to get the solution I`m looking for? Basically I want my primary services to be running on the disaster site also, and run SnapMirror back to primary location on these volumes.
Everything runs vSphere 5.1 with NFS Storage on Ontap 8.1, and dual Cisco Nexus 5k on both ends.
