Are there any pitfalls to installing vCenter Server on a host in a cluster already managed by a different vCenter Server?

I suppose the first answer I get back will be; Why?

Our organization has decided that the UNIX team and the Windows team cannot share a single vCenter Server that manages the entire environment. Hence the Windows team has offered up a VM in which we can install vCenter Server and then we can create our environment from there.

Yes I have already read the doco on creating a VM thru the vSphere Client on a ESXi host that we already manage. That is a viable option, but the 2008r2 server would again have to be a image that they deployed.

I looked at the vCenter Server appliance for linux, but from what I can tell that would be too small for our environment, and does not support Symantec Appha.

Yes it would be nice if we could all play nice, but mgmt is not forcing us to so this is where we are.

Any ideas/concerns would be helpful...

Thanks!
