Thanks for your reply. I watched the video and it was helpful but my concern is two parts: First, from a physical standpoint, I presume that I must still enable an available uplink from the physical switch toeach of my 4 ESXi hosts so that I can assign it to the vDS and thereby use it for the VM vnic. Second, I see that each of our 4 ESXi hosts have standard switches with VM port groups, each with their own unique vlanid. The vDS does not show that the standard switches were migrated into the vDS so do I setup the vlan on the standard switches first and then migrate the standard switches to the vDS? or, am I missing the boat and do I just setup the 1 0r 2 available uplinks on the vDS and setup dvportgroup for the new vlan and assign the vlan to the VM?
