So I've been able to update tools and hardware on a couple of VMs that I can shut down including my Windows vCenter server. Now I'm wondering, since hardware version 10 can't be edited by the legacy client, what I'll do in the event of a vCenter server failure. In the past I could always connect the client directly to the host but it looks like I'll no longer be able to edit VM hardware this way. What if my vCenter server crashes and I need to edit its hardware to resolve it? That's a little scary.
