We have one administrative user (our of 3) who cannot logon using his AD credentials. He gets the error 'cannot complet login due to an incorrect user name or password'. He was able to log on ok prior to the upgrade and the other 2 users (includes myself) are having no issues. When loging into web client he gets an error 'can't authenticate to Inventory Server'. We all have same permissions on the top level of virtual centre, and our AD administrative accounts features and group memberships are the same. We use LDAP AD authentication on the virtual centre. This user cannot log on using Windows Session credentials nor by typing them in on either Client and Web client. He has even tried using the vsphere clients on my computer which work fine for me.
I have logged a job with VMware and the engineer could find nothing wrong with the permissions on the Client and Web client. VMWare suggest trying an upgrade to 5.5b but that is alot of AH work and I'd have to upgrade the virtual centre server on 2 sites so just wondering if anyone else has come across this before? I have read of a few authentication issues with 5.5 but not this particular issue for one user's account.
