Good day all,
This will be my first time in this community and i hope you will be able to assist me, please keep in mind i am still learning the intricacies of VMware and all of her wonderful products, with that said lets get started.
According to the SLA currently in place Replication must happen on the Storage Level, I currently have an environment where there are 2 sites Production (PRD) and Disaster Recovery site (DR),
within each site are x2 physical hosts, 12TB storage where VM's are stored, SAN Switches the whole shebang.
Replication on the storage level between the two sites completed successfully. Within the datastores are full VM files, (.vmdk, .vswp, nvram, etc)
the issue comes up when its time to present the datastore onto the Virtual Infrastructure.(vCenter) and power on the machine automatically without the use of SRM. i have tried to explore options such as vSphere Orchestrator but unfortunately i lack the programmer know-how to execute some of these tasks.
the closest i have come to powering on the VM's within the migrated datastore is having to attach the .VMDK file to a new virtual machine and power on using that route.
Is there a work around that i may have missed in my finite trials and errors? Please let me know if there are any questions or addition information you may require,
