Would you be upgrading the same 5.1 environment to 5.5 ?
If yes, your all SDRS configuration should be retained with NO any issue.
5.5 would be fresh installation?
if yes, Then you will have to create SDRS cluster & configure SDRS cluster again with rule settings etc. In this case, you need to document your SDRS cluster documentation and use the same while configuring on new VC. For documentation purpose you can write the script & write the program which will configure sDRS cluster for you with documented SDRS cluster specification/configuration.
