vCenter Syslog Support

Hi

We have a v5.5. vCenter, vSphere, vCloud Director system. vCenter is on Windows 2008 R2.

We trialled the VMware Log Insight and felt that the log filtering value was not worth the price being charged.

At this point I assumed all servers had syslog forwarding support.

So I created a syslog server and pointed the Blades (ESXi) and vCloud to the syslog server.

I was then told (via VMware) that vcenter did not have syslog forwarding.

So I am some what puzzled why it does not (if this is true) and how the Insight Log Server got the vCenter logs ?
