Hello VMware experts! I'm having a problem with an ESX host and a stuck LUN. I'm running ESX 4.1 connected to a netapp 2240-4 SAN. The three ESX hosts are using iSCSI to talk to the SAN. The Netapp had 6 LUNs presented to VMware, three on the top controller and three on the bottom. I was able to create datastores for all six LUNS on ESX1 and ESX3, but for some reason ESX2 couldn't see one of them. I tried a bunch of different things, nothing worked, so I deleted the datastore that ESX2 could not see and then deleted the LUN from the Netapp. I then rescanned for storage and the LUN disappeared from ESX1 and ESX3. Its still shows on ESX2 even though it no longer exists. Pictures:
ESX1 - Correctly shows the 5 connected LUNs being presented by the Netapp
ESX2 - The problem child. It shows six LUNs being presented, the highlighted one is what no longer exists. Rescanning fails to remove the LUN. Manage Paths shows the stats as "Dead"
ESX3 - Matches ESX1
I'm at a loss as to why this one host still thinks that LUN is available. I need to find a way to remove it, preferably without any downtime. I would very much appreciate any suggestions, thanks!
