Afternoon,
Want to run a few ideas off the community. I have a interesting but I think common problem that I want to get suggestions on.
Have a client with Multiple Production Sites. Each site has its own unique properties and business requirements for its own vSphere environment. Now removing SRM from the discussion, is it better to have a local vCenter at every location (these are NOT SALES/PERSONNEL offices) or have all the Hosts and Clusters be controlled from the company's main datacenter?
Breakdown of what has been done to answer questions:
- Just completed standardizing the vSphere environments at all locations (ESXi 5.5)
- Just completed standardizing the hardware for all environments at all locations (same hardware platform at every site)
- SRM is not on the table at this time (would be easy to answer my question if it was)
- Have multiple redundant network paths to each location
Originally I was going to write up a number of points and questions I wanted to address but I want to hear what you have to say.
Thanks,
