vSphere 5.5 SSO and AD Authentication

I recently upgraded from vSphere 5.1 to 5.5 and have not been able to get AD Authentication working right. In the Web console as the 'vsphere.local' admin, I set up the Active Directory Identity source, made it default and added the AD users that I wanted to be admins to the vsphere.local 'Administrators' group. I can log into the web console using the AD accounts I added to the 'Administrators' group, Actually, it turns out any AD account can log into the Web Console. But with the users that I have added to the vsphere administrators group, I get nothing in the web console. No hosts, guests, datastores. Nothing. I get the same with AD users that have not been added to any groups in vsphere, which whjile I would think if you have not been added to a group, you should not be able to log in at all, but if you can log in, I would expect to not see any resources.

I also tried creating a few 'vsphere.local' users and adding them to the administrators group but had the same result - no resources.

This is also causing me issues with my Horizon View installation.

Most if the 'How-To's' I've read pretty much say that what I've done is what you need to do to get AD Authentication working - What am I missing?

EdiT: I forgot to add: If I try to log into the legacy console with an AD account, I get 'You do not have permission to login to the server:'
