Welcome to the communities!  If the item you placed on the ESXi host's datastore is an ISO file, you can simply right click the VM, Edit Settings and configure the CDROM drive of the VM to point to that ISO image.  In your case, you would select "Datastore ISO File" under the "Device Type" section.

Here are the "Device Type" options under Edit Settings > CD/DVD:
- Client Device (use this if you want to connect the VM's CD drive to an ISO image sourced from your laptop or local machine)
- Host device (In general, never use this.  This is the physical CD/DVD device on the host)
- Datastore ISO File (use this to connect the VM's CD drive to an ISO file on an ESXi host's datastore)

Tip:  When you are done using the ISO image, be a good admin and disconnect the image from the VM.
