Thank you for taking the time to respond. I am aware of the VCENTER limits and most likely will never reach them 
As for access to the environment when the connections between the sites are down. Completely aware of that issue, its one of the concerns I have. Not a huge priority though. Each site has its own direct VPN and will be able to control the environment locally from the ESXi Hosts. Not the best solution but a doable one. Plus if my connections between locations is down, I have bigger problems.
How about this one question: Is it worth controlling ESXi Hosts at a remote site with a centralized vDS? Any issues in delay or control when the vDS is not local to the Hosts physical network?
