the latest available version is for 6U2.
Since we updated our vCenter Server (running on Windows) from 6.0U2 to 6.0U3b, we cannot see any events in vSphere Web Client. The Events tab tells us that there are no events.
We already found out that the problem is limited to the german view of web client. We tested opening web client using English or French locale and see all events displayed correctly. Also no problem in classical vSphere client.
Is there anyone who experienced a similar effect?
Please help me I have everything installed properly server is running perfect. Vcenter Server appliance when I try to install this it says requires 2008 or later, I know people have the chrome extension or whatever it is to access it online its basically the same as vsphere see my screenshot. But it's the online client instead on the youtube tutorials they access from chrome, one guy said it should be in my basic 6.0 folder I cannot find it anywhere. I am stuck, please help just want this web client extension for chrome
Hi guys,
I have deployed the latest version of vCenter 6.5 on ESXi 6.5 hosts.
When I go to the new vSphere Client (HTML5) I can't view the remote console of the servers without VRMC installed
I can however view them via the vSphere Flash client and connecting to the HTML5 management of the host directly
Is there a setting I need to enable or can you only view remote consoles on the HTML5 client with VRMC?
Hi,
I like to help you with this, but some things are not clear to me.
You say, you want to install vCenter Server Appliance, I assume you want to deploy the OVF for vCenter Server, right? (which version).
You can access your ESXi host (6.5?) from a webbrowser, and from there you can deploy an vCenter Server Appliance.
What are you trying to accomplish?
-> install esxi
-> install vcenter server?
Please let me know...
can you see the option 'launch vm console'? please post the error screenshot you receive.
I'm planning on updating vCenter Server from 6.0.0 3634793 to the latest patched 6.0. We have a VDI environment and Horizon 7 Composer is installed on our vCenter Server. I'll be taking a snapshot beforehand but what should I do to minimize the impact on our VDI environment if Comopser will be down for a couple minutes, if everything goes well. More time it things don't go well.
Thanks for your help.
We are a small school with a small tech staff and no VMware experts, so I really hope someone can help us out.
Our VCSA 6.0 was doing fine but recently rebooted after a power failure. I realized something was wrong when I got the following when trying to connect with my browser:
503 Service Unavailable (Failed to connect to endpoint: [N7Vmacore4Http16LocalServiceSpecE:0x7fa482aaf3a0] _serverNamespace = /vsphere-client _isRedirect = false _port = 9090). Our backups are also failing with a 503 error.
Here are some notes of interest that I typed while watching the server reboot:

I've dealt with issues of /storage/log running out of space in the past, and I suspect that some element of the server's storage is either full or needs fsck. However I can't get to bash to check these things. Typing "shell.set --enabled True" from the appliance shell results in "Unknown command: 'shell.set'". Trying to enable bash from the server console results in "DCUI aborted by exception". I also tried booting directly to bash from GRUB, but when I tried to fsck /dev/mapper/log_vg-log, which I'd read about somewhere, I was told that checking a mounted volume could cause severe damage. I umounted it, but then I couldn't figure out how to to fsck it.
I've reached the limit of my knowledge and would appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
I "think" that log rotation failed and because of that, the hard disk for logs (and maybe other things) are full, and because of that, strange things happen like this.
I would suggest to do the following check:
Are you able to log into the console?
If so, can you please do a
df -H
and share the result with us?
Please keep in mind that there is a possibility to redeploy/reinstall the VCSA....
Sorry, did not read the last part
So, it looks like full disks...
I will think about other options!
I don't think there should be any difficulties.

Thanks! I'm asking because I tried updating vCenter Server last week and during installation ran into an install problem. The install automatically rolled back and I thought all was OK until the next morning. Any VDIs that had been logged off by the User, were dead.
I immediately went back to my snapshot and all the VDIs that had been logged off by their Users had to be Removed.
Once these two steps were completed all went back to normal.
I'm going to attempt to update vCenter Server again but this time I would like to avoid, if possible, issues with the VDIs.
Once again, Thanks
Hi,
Do I have to traduce my question in English ?
I met the same problem today. It's because of "/" running out of space.
1. You can use a Linux ISO image (RHEL, Suse... etc.) as a boot CD/DVD, and then reboot the vCenter virtual machine from the CD/DVD
2. Select "Rescue System" (or something like that)
3. If you use rhel to boot the VM, the original "/" will be mounted at /mnt/sysimage (I'm not sure about Suse, but you can find it any way)
4. Use "df -H" to find if "/mnt/sysimage" is 100% full.
5. Use "du -sh" to find which directory/file occupys most of the space. If my case, I found /mnt/sysimage/var/log/audit/audit.log and clear it.
6. Reboot the vCenter. It's ok.
Good luck.
In version 5 the performance overview charts/graphs could be exported to view as whole. I can only find ability to export one graph at time with new web client. Please tell me I am missing something somewhere. to have to export minimum 5 graphs for each server is going to take way to much time.
That was what I needed! I deleted the audit.log file, rebooted, and the services all started. I also needed to deal with the log disk at 100% capacity. For anyone else who may have this problem I used these articles:
vCenter Appliance root Partition 100% full due to Audit.log files not being rotated (2149278) | VMware KB
/storage/log directory is full in vCenter Server Appliance 6.0 (2143565) | VMware KB
Thanks very much for your help.
Hi all
I am experiencing some strange behavior with the VCSA version above and Active Directory authentication.
Basically the following occurs:
1. vSphere Client (the old .NET thick client) - if you check the checkbox named "Use Windows session credentials" - this works fine and I login
2. vSphere Client (the old .NET thick client) - if you uncheck the checkbox named "Use Windows session credentials" - and type in your DOMAIN login / password manually, it does not work "Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password"
....and using the Web Client:
1. Click the checkbox as per above - fails, no error
2. Manually type in the DOMAIN login / password, it fails "Authentication failure" (I have downloaded and installed the integration plugin)
I have enabled LSASS but it made no difference (though I did not reboot, I only restarted vpxd) and this used to work fine in previous versions, the only thing I can think of is that as part of security we disabled SMBv1 on the domain controllers in the past.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
This was the same for me. It would report that the external PSC wasn't a replication partner until I used all UPPERCASE for the servername; which is probably how it was installed.
